Director of Marketing & Public Engagement

Description

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

Food for the Hungry is a Christian non-profit organization focused on ending poverty—one community at a time.

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling, innovation, and impact? Do you thrive in leading creative teams and building campaigns that inspire generosity, shift perspectives, and drive meaningful change?

FH Canada is looking for a Director of Marketing & Public Engagement who is ready to push boundaries, elevate our brand, and lead a dynamic team on a mission to end poverty—one community at a time.

This is more than a leadership role—it's a chance to redefine what it means to engage the public in global transformation.

ABOUT YOU
As our ideal candidate, you’re a big-picture thinker with a deep belief in the power of storytelling to move people to action. You’re not afraid to experiment, test, and iterate—and you know how to turn bold ideas into results. Whether leading a creative brainstorm, analyzing campaign metrics, or navigating cross-functional priorities, you lead with curiosity, clarity, and compassion. You’ve led high-performing teams, and are energized by cultivating talent, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. With a strong grasp of digital marketing and donor engagement strategies, you understand both the art and science of capturing attention in a crowded space—and you’re motivated by purpose, impact, and lasting change.

THE JOB
As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you’ll be the visionary and driving force behind FH Canada’s national marketing, brand, and public engagement strategies. You’ll lead a passionate team of creatives and strategists to:

  • Elevate our brand and build strong public trust through storytelling, public relations, and media engagement.
  • Engage new audiences and inspire action across Canada—supporters, donors, volunteers, and beyond.
  • Support internal teams with compelling communication materials and creative strategy.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • A strategic mind with 7+ years of marketing and communications leadership, ideally in the nonprofit or social impact space.
  • Creative courage and a strong understanding of digital solutions—social media, web, SEO/SEM, analytics, email marketing, and lead generation.
  • A love for people and storytelling that is ethical, equitable and values-driven.
  • A track record of cultivating cultures of learning, innovation, and high performance.
  • Expertise in campaign development (annual, digital, direct mail, events-based), brand strategy, and donor experience design.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Personal and professional dedication to FH Canada’s core values and comfortable working in a Christian environment.
